Starting Over -- 249.5

So due to some unforeseen family circumstances, I fell off the wagon for convenience purposes. But I am back on! I joined a $20 DietBet with over $2,000 in the pot and I am going to lose my 10 pounds this time no matter what! My plan:

- Eat three small meals a day
- Take Phentermine once a day
- Take metabolism boosting supplement twice a day
- Drink 3 bottles of water daily
- Gym 5 days a week, 5 cardio days and 3 strength training days

It's a lot of changes, but I am READY! I need something to take my mind off anxiety and getting fit is a perfect way to do it :)

So Frustrated! -- 250

So my "eat days" are out of the question for awhile. At this rate I'm not going to win any of my money back from the DietBet and that infuriates me.

I am so frustrated...I barely eat and I still can't lose the 5 pounds I put on...what is going on?! I can't eat any less than I already am without not eating at all. I just don't understand. I exercise and take metabolism boosters, so what's the deal here? Gosh I'm just so frustrated!!!!!

I did it! -- 245

I did it! I lost 20 pounds!

I joined a gym on Wednesday and made my first visit yesterday. It was a good starter workout. I'm going to try and lift weights today in addition to my cardio: 15 minutes on the treadmill, 5 minutes on the bicycle. I also did two sets of 12 reps of 30 pounds resistance on the ab machine. I want to work out my arms. I may need to ask for help on what machines to use. I also need to take a notebook to write down what weights and how many sets and reps I do on each machine.

I need to lose 3.1 more pounds to reach my DietBet goal. Here we go!

Sloughing It Off -- 247

Yep, down another pound! I weighed again today a few hours after I woke up and before I ate anything. Glad I did! What motivation to keep going! I'm back in first place in my DietBet with a 48% chance of winning. I'm also halfway to my goal there! I really hope I'm the only one who makes it, $50 would come in handy right now! Even $25 would be awesome. Any more than the $10 I placed to bet would be nice LOL.

I learned that I can eat after dinner and still lose weight today, so that's a big boost. I can't remember if I posted about it already but I ordered 7-Keto as a metabolism booster from Dr. Oz's website recommendation of it. It should arrive next week. That will be nice since I don't eat frequently, as in, I don't snack. I lack control in snacking. I find that it doesn't quell my hunger enough to do me any good other than to put more calories in my diet if I don't have something meal-worthy like a sandwich.

Alright, that's my epiphany for today: I can eat after dinner (which I'm up for 8 hours after dinner so this is welcome news) and still lose weight! Until next time,

Die, Pounds! -- 248

So I weighed in at 248 just now! Woohoo! Considering I started at 265 I am STOKED. In 15 days I have gone from that weight down 17 pounds. Pretty epic :)

I actually just ordered a metabolism-boosting supplement called 7-Keto that I read was good on Dr. Oz's website. I found it at an affordable price and jumped on it. The decrease in frequency of me eating has me thinking my metabolism may be crashing and I want to do everything I can to jumpstart it.

I also figured out why I felt so crappy yesterday -- I forgot to take my phentermine (appetite suppressant). The withdrawal feels like the flu, just awful. But I'm feeling much better now that I've taken it.

Until later!

Whoops! -- 249

I splurged an extra night and ended up eating Taco Bell for dinner late last night. It pushed me back up up to 250. Ah well, more motivation to do well in my challenges!

I'm no longer the winner in the DietBet.com challenge, and the Biggest Loser challenge just started yesterday. I am actually now down to 249 again since I started this blog post last night. However I slept too late and was too exhausted for some reason to do any exercise today. It's like my muscles are jelly!

Oh well, here's to another day on the trail of weight loss and I'll be posting tomorrow, hopefully with a lower weight!

Another One Bites The Dust -- 249

I finally lost another pound! That one day where I didn't really had me second-guessing myself. But I know I can't expect daily weight loss to continue. A lot of people would question why I weigh every day when it can be so misleading -- but I do it for motivation. Even if I've lost weight it's motivation to do more, and when I don't it's motivation to do more. So it's a win-win situation for me. I understand weight fluctuates and as I lose more weight I'll likely stop weighing so frequently but for now it's every day. I'm just too curious and impatient!

Tacos for dinner, yum! No weigh-in tomorrow as it's EAT DAY! Meaning I can have what I want to eat no matter how high in calories and fat it is :) I can't wait!

Feeling Defeated -- 250

So today's weigh-in showed no change. I guess it's better than gaining but I feel like I'm stuck. I behaved in what I ate and only took one day's break from exercising (cardio every other day, strength training every other in between day). I suppose my sloughing-off-the-weight streak is over and now the real work begins!

But I have to admit I feel defeated, like I didn't try hard enough to even lose one measly pound. I've gained 20 since I've been in my new house and that's the number I'll continue to push myself towards (to lose quickly) since I gained it so fast. Until then I will continue to push myself harder than maybe is necessary.

I can't help but wonder, though, what I did wrong to not lose another pound. Was it the yogurt and granola? The hot dogs? I should have stuck with one, looking back. They weren't the fat free ones I'm used to eating, I didn't even think about it.

Tonight I'm thinking about dinner and it's one grilled cheese for me with green beans. Then later my snack will be to two pieces of toast with cinnamon sugar low-cholesterol butter spread.

Until tomorrow's weigh-in!

Willpower -- 250

I hit the 15 pound mark today (well yesterday technically) and I am astounded! I guess when you put on a bunch of weight in a short amount of time (and you aren't pregnant) it comes off faster when you really behave yourself.

I did my first video workout yesterday on YouTube. Only made it 3/4 of the way through but it's a start.

Today I've dealt with willpower and struggled not to overeat. So far so good. For dinner I had two hot dogs (no buns) with ketchup, a pile of green beans, and a small cup of applesauce. Later I will have some yogurt with granola cereal and that should do it for the day. Oh how I LOVE yogurt with granola!

I forgot to do a strength workout today, whoops! Back to walking tomorrow if I can remember to before it gets dark. After then it's the workout video and I prefer a walk :)

I'm 20% of the way towards my DietBet.com goal. Only 8.1 pounds to go!

Weight Loss Challenges! -- 252

I joined a challenge on Facebook and on DietBet.com! Both cost $10 so there's lots of motivation to do well! My biggest thing now is to exercise. I'm going to have to brave the cold or sweat through my tae bo videos since I don't have any gym equipment and can't afford a gym membership.

Eating has been a breeze with the appetite suppressants. Today when I did my weigh-in for the Diet Bet challenge it showed I'm down 13 pounds! And that's WITHOUT any exercise. Imagine if I'd been exercising this whole time?

I think I might look up fitness videos on YouTube since the Tae Bo is so hard and I can only do like 5 minutes of it before I am out of breath and strength completely.

Wish me luck!

6 Days, 9 Pounds -- 256

Like millions of other Americans, my New Year's Resolution was to lose weight. And so far so good! In less than a week I've gone from 265 to 256. That's the best order those three numbers can go in ;)

I have accomplished this weight loss using prescription appetite suppressants called phentermine. It has really helped me eat normal portions and not crave snacks. I am worried I'm not getting enough calories, though. In fact I know I'm not. Today I had some soup and a bowl of cereal. I don't think I broke 1,000 calories. That has been the norm for the past 6 days. Although right now I'm fighting off a craving for a balogna sandwich. I'm fighting it because I already had a bowl of cereal tonight. Not sure what to do.

I will continue to fight it. I have (so far) successfully kicked an addiction to oxycodone (Percocets) so that has empowered me to feel stronger in my convictions. No extra food. I think the sandwich (with the cheese and Miracle Whip, fat free as it may be) would push me over and keep me from losing. And in this game, losing is WINNING!

I think one reason the weight is coming off so fast is because a.) I always lose fast the first week of better eating habits, and b.) I gained over 20 pounds since October 1st and that was a fast gain, so it should be a quicker loss. At least that's how it works for me, typically.

Alright, back to Netflix to keep my mind occupied and off that sandwich!
